Confirm the license is active, the name matches, the classification covers pool work, and review any complaints.
Ask for insurance
Request a certificate of insurance and confirm it is current before work starts.
Red flags when hiring a pool contractor
Be cautious if a contractor can’t or won’t give you a license number, asks for a large cash deposit up front, pressures you to sign the same day, won’t put the scope and warranty in writing, or offers a price far below every other bid.
